Why Volunteer?
MHV Admirals Football & Cheer is a non-profit organization that relies on community support to
provide a great experience for our young athletes. Our volunteer program is a fantastic opportunity for
students to earn community service hours, gain real-world experience, and develop valuable skills in
sports management, media, and event operations.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Concession Stand Workers
- Assist with food and beverage sales during games and events.
- Set up and clean the concession stand.
- Handle transactions and provide customer service.
- Restock supplies as needed.
Skills Gained: Customer service, cash handling, teamwork.
Photographers
- Capture action shots and candid moments during games and events.
- Edit and submit high-quality images for use on social media and marketing materials.
- Work with the social media team to highlight key moments.
Skills Gained: Photography, photo editing, sports media experience.
Sports Reporters
- Write short game recaps and player highlights for our website and social media.
- Interview players and coaches for feature stories.
- Assist in creating content for newsletters.
Skills Gained: Journalism, writing, interviewing, content creation.
Social Media Assistants
- Capture behind-the-scenes content for our social media channels.
- Post live updates, photos, and videos during games.
- Engage with our online community by responding to comments and messages.
- Help brainstorm creative content ideas.
Skills Gained: Social media management, marketing, content strategy.
Required Hours for Volunteer Certification
Many colleges and scholarship programs require documented volunteer hours. Our program ensures that
students can meet these benchmarks:
- Minimum Commitment: 10 hours to receive a verification letter.
- Recommended for College Applications: 50+ hours (aligns with requirements for many universities and scholarships).
- National Honor Society (NHS) Requirements: 25+ hours (varies by chapter).
- Presidential Volunteer Service Award: 50-100 hours (depending on age group).
- Graduation or Scholarship Requirement Support: We can sign off on hours for school or community-based programs.
We provide a letter of recommendation for any student who completes at least 10 hours of service with us!
